Climbing the steep mountain of recovery is hard work,
But the view from the summit is spectacular,
Rewarding and worth every step.
But don’t forget to rest and reflect along the way,
Every vantage point offers its own wonderful sights
Not just on the horizon but in everything around you.
Keep going, enjoy every step of achievement,
Pain is a message to our body, listen to its limits,
Savour your accomplishment.
You are not alone,
Your family and friends, both in body and spirit, travel with you,
Lovingly holding your hand.
Don’t underestimate the smallest improvements,
Be mindful of the tiniest building blocks, so easily missed.
Look back along the route travelled and the progress becomes clearer.
The body is AMAZING, the brain POWERFUL,
YOU are amazing.
Trust and believe in your power within and ability to heal….
My husband says I am a nightmare, actually, a ”complex nightmare”, said with love and understanding of course! In truth the phrase probably does sum me up which is why I will use it.
Explanation:-
• Complex due to my thoughts being varied, deep and even conflicting
• Nightmare due to their constant, numerous and consuming nature.
I am an emotional writer, adrenaline courses my veins and I feel a need to express myself. Unfortunately for me (and my husband) this often wakes me in the night as thoughts tumble around in my head; paper and pen by the bedside a necessity!
I am creative and artistic, but only have enthusiasm for “bespoke” creations; hence I have found it difficult to label a theme. I am excited about seeing how my writing develops. My life experiences are such that I have a personal view on most subjects and if you follow me you may find my topics to be what my daughter would call “random”.
Even when my focus is dark, I feel my life’s mantra is in my DNA! My blood group is B+ and whatever I encounter in life I try to “Be Positive” maybe this will be a theme to shine through?
I have a passion for creative writing but have chosen to start a blog to gather personal thoughts and experiences so I am not tempted to use my creative writing cathartically. I have written for myself for years, but have only just started to allow others to read my writing. Pretty scary stuff.
I have a novel in my head, that will be written, but for the moment I am producing short stories and writing blogs to keep myself in the habit of writing.
If you have an constructive criticism to offer, feel free ….
