Bronze parenting ….

Parental protectiveness
borne unfelt at conception
lovingly intensifying as each
cell grows into being
off-spring in our own image

Amplified weightiness in
decisions to give balance
so as not to spoil with love
whilst providing every need
to nurture our blood life

Happy hearts break full
exposing effortless love
soothing smooth brows to sleep
disquiet, concern, and care all
found displayed upon the bronze

Written in response to “Wea’ve Written Weekly” W3 prompt this week from Nigel who asks us to write an Ekphrastic Poem based on the photo of Auguste Rodin’s “The Thinker”.
